Overview
A 6-foot kids' kayak from Lifetime, built for young paddlers up to 115 pounds. It comes with molded side handles, a wide stable hull and a paddle included in the box.
Lifetime designed this one around a child's size and skill level rather than shrinking a mid-size kayak, aimed at ages 5 and up. The sloped, swim-up back deck lets a kid climb back in solo after falling out, and at 18 pounds it is light enough for a parent to carry alone.
- 6 ft youth kayak, 18 lb
- 115 lb weight capacity
- Recommended ages 5 and up
- Paddle included
Who it's for
Parents introducing a young child to paddling on a calm lake or pond, under direct supervision. Not suited to older kids near or above the 115 pound cap, or to open water and current.
Pros and cons
- Sized and weighted for kids, not a scaled-down adult boat
- Swim-up rear step for solo re-entry
- Only 18 lb, easy for one parent to carry
- 115 lb weight cap limits it to younger or smaller kids
- Adult supervision required per the listing
- No storage or rigging for gear
Performance notes
The reverse chine hull and wide stance are built to keep a small paddler stable rather than fast, trading speed for a platform that resists tipping. The molded swim-up step at the stern lets a child re-enter from the water without adult lifting, which matters more for confidence than any single spec on the page.
