Overview
A late practice session when the volume must stay down is what this Meinl travel cajon is built for. Rubber wood construction, internal snare wires and a soundport give it the acoustic character of a standard Meinl cajon.
The listing frames it as a way to keep technique sharp anywhere, with volume deliberately reduced. The limit is that it is not a full-volume stage drum, and no included bag or strap is mentioned.
Who it's for
Cajon players who travel or practice in shared spaces can rehearse technique at low volume. Performers who need a full-size, stage-level cajon should choose a standard model.
Pros and cons
- Compact and light
- Internal snare wires
- Soundport for projection
- Rubber wood construction
- Reduced volume by design
- Bag not mentioned
- Not a standard-size cajon
- No connector for amplification
Performance notes
Internal snare wires buzz against the playing surface, and the soundport lets the sound project out of the body. Per the listing, the only change from a full-sized Meinl is reduced output.
