Overview
The Thill AC788-2 is a pair of wood bobbers in an oval shape, 7/8 inch in size, sold two to a pack and built for float fishing.
Wood floats like this are the classic still-fishing tool, sitting light on the surface and signaling a bite by dipping or moving rather than through any electronic or weighted mechanism. The 7/8 inch oval shape is on the smaller side, suited to light bites rather than heavy current or big baits.
- Wood material
- 7/8 inch oval shape
- Sold as a 2 count pack
- Built for float fishing
Who it's for
Anglers still-fishing with light bait for panfish or similar species, who want a simple visual bite indicator, are the fit here. Anyone fishing heavier baits or strong current will want a larger or differently shaped float.
Pros and cons
- Wood construction floats light on the surface
- Sold as a pair for backup or multi-rod use
- Small size suits light bites
- 7/8 inch size is too small for heavier bait or strong current
Performance notes
Wood construction keeps these floats buoyant and light, and the 7/8 inch oval shape rides the surface to show a bite through movement or submersion, the standard mechanism for this style of bobber.
