Overview
A monochrome laser engine with automatic two-sided printing drives this HP LaserJet Pro, protected by security built into its hardware, firmware and operating system. Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct connect it, and setup runs from a smartphone.
HP builds a fast, secure office printer with flexible connections and optional extra paper capacity. It only accepts cartridges with original HP chips, which rules out many third-party toners, and it prints only.
Who it's for
Small businesses printing contracts and reports in black and white get speed, security and wireless options. Buyers planning to use third-party toner should know that non-HP chips are blocked.
Pros and cons
- High page speed
- Dual-band Wi-Fi and Ethernet
- Built-in security features
- Optional extra paper tray
- Blocks non-HP chip cartridges
Performance notes
Speed comes from the laser engine's fast page rate and quick first page, with duplexing done automatically. Auto-on and auto-off technology reduces power use when idle. Firmware updates enforce the cartridge chip check.
