Durherm DIF-5000 Portable Infrared Sauna with Chair

Overview

A single-person far infrared sauna tent from Durherm, the DIF-5000 in copper trim, sized for the Large body dimensions with an included chair and heated footpad. Runs on standard 110-120V household power and folds down for storage between sessions.

Portable infrared saunas trade the plumbing and framing of a cedar cabin for a zip-up shell set up in a bedroom or garage corner. At 25 lbs it is light enough to move between rooms, though that also means a fabric shell rather than a wood cabin.

• Wired handheld controller for in-session adjustment
• 31.5 x 33 x 41 inch footprint
• Two terry cloth neck wraps and a foam seat pad included
• Copper-toned exterior on the Large size

Who it's for

Fits someone who wants heat therapy at home without dedicating a bathroom to a hot tub or steam unit, and who has roughly a 31.5 by 33 inch floor footprint to spare. Less suited to anyone expecting a wood-paneled cabin sauna or wanting to stand rather than sit during a session.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Far infrared units heat the body directly rather than heating the air around it, which is why the footpad and chair matter as much as the tent shell, they put the emitters close to the skin. The low EMF, negative ion spec points to shielded heating elements, aimed at buyers specifically avoiding higher-EMF panels. Setup speed will depend on the zip and pole system more than on wattage, since the unit runs on a standard household circuit rather than a dedicated line.
