Overview
Not a bare box drum, this Cafe Cajon is a Baltic birch hand-played instrument that arrives with a Meinl gig bag. Two sets of fixed steel snares add crisp tone, and a rear sound port boosts bass and doubles as a mic position.
The reason to buy is the bundle: a birch cajon with both snare and bass voices plus a bag for carrying. The limit is that the snares are fixed and the weight figures disagree.
Who it's for
A busker, cafe player or beginner who needs a portable box drum for acoustic music with a carry bag included. A drummer who wants adjustable snare response should look at an adjustable-snare model.
Pros and cons
- Baltic birch construction
- Gig bag included
- Two sets of snares
- Rear port boosts bass
- Snares fixed, not adjustable
- Weight figures conflict in the listing
- Warranty needs an authorized retailer
Performance notes
The Baltic birch body gives balanced lows and clear highs, according to the description. Two sets of fixed steel snares add crisp tone, while the rear sound port adds bass and serves as a place to mic the drum. Non-slip silicone feet steady the box on any surface so the body can resonate freely.
