Overview
Not a laptop stand built for posture, the TECKNET cooling pad is a fan base that pushes air up under a notebook to help it shed heat. It runs on power from a USB-A or USB-C port, and the fan speed can be adjusted to match the workload.
USB-C power support matters for thin laptops that have dropped USB-A ports, and adjustable fan speed lets light work and heavier loads get different airflow. With only a pair of fans, coverage is focused on part of the underside rather than spread across the whole base.
Who it's for
Owners of thin modern laptops with only USB-C ports get a cooler that powers straight from them. Gamers with big machines that heat up across the whole base should look for broader fan coverage.
Pros and cons
- Runs on USB-A or USB-C power
- Adjustable fan speed for quieter work
- Light enough to carry with a laptop
- Metal and plastic construction
- Only two fans for coverage
- Supported laptop sizes not listed
- Focused airflow, not full-base coverage
Performance notes
Cooling depends on how well the fans line up with the laptop's intake vents, since a pair of fans covers a limited area. Raising fan speed moves more air at the expense of more noise. USB power means the pad shares the laptop's port while running.
