Overview
Dialing in a live sound with the onboard tuner and EQ is quick on the Ovation Celebrity Elite, a super shallow cutaway with a Lyrachord bowl back. Multiple small soundholes around the upper bout give clear highs and a focused bass.
Stage comfort and feedback control are the case, with a slim body that feels close to an electric guitar. The long warranty adds peace of mind. Unplugged volume and bass are lighter than a deep wooden body.
Who it's for
Gigging players, worship guitarists and electric players crossing over to acoustic. Those playing unplugged in a room may want a deeper body.
Pros and cons
- Very shallow, comfortable body
- Onboard tuner and EQ
- Low battery indicator
- Distinctive multi soundhole design
- Less unplugged bass
- Fretboard wood listed two ways
- Composite back feels different
Performance notes
A shallow body moves less air, which trims unplugged bass but resists feedback at stage volume. The multi-port soundholes spread sound across the top for clarity. The preamp's EQ shapes the piezo signal for the room.
