Overview
Laptop owners and drivers get a micro sized flash drive that can stay plugged into a USB port without sticking out. The Elite-X Fit uses a standard Type-A plug and works with current and older USB ports on PCs, Macs, car stereos, consoles and TVs.
Fast reads in a body that barely clears the port make it a set and forget storage add on. The small size that suits a permanent port makes it easy to lose in a pocket, and there is no keyring loop listed.
Who it's for
People adding storage to a laptop, TV or in car music system benefit most, since the drive can stay put. Those moving files between many machines daily may prefer a larger drive with a loop that is harder to lose.
Pros and cons
- Low profile stays plugged in
- Fast reads for large files
- Works in USB 2.0 ports too
- Fits car stereos, consoles and TVs
- Type-A only, no USB-C plug
- Small size is easy to lose
Performance notes
Read speed governs how fast large files open, and the drive reaches its rated speed only in a newer high speed USB port. In an older port it falls back to that slower standard. Write speed is lower than read, so copying large folders onto it takes longer than copying off.
