Overview
Back up a laptop with one click or on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule using the Seagate Backup Plus Portable. The brushed metal drive connects with the included USB cable and stores photos, videos and documents for Windows, Mac and Chrome OS machines.
Large capacity in a pocketable case covers a whole photo library and system backups together. The drive has no listed warranty term, and speed is bound by the USB connection and the spinning disk.
Who it's for
Home offices and photographers backing up several computers on a schedule. Users with only USB-C laptops will need an adapter, and editors wanting fast working storage should look at an SSD.
Pros and cons
- Large capacity in a small case
- Works with Windows, Mac and Chrome OS
- Scheduled automatic backups
- Photo software memberships included
- Warranty term not listed
- Included cable is USB 3.0, no USB-C
- Spinning disk speed for large transfers
Performance notes
Throughput is set by the spinning disk and the USB link, so the first full backup of a large library is the slow part. After that, scheduled backups run without manual steps.
