Overview
Slipping into a laptop sleeve, this thin Seagate drive backs up files with one click or on a schedule and powers from its USB cable. It is listed for PlayStation consoles as well as Windows and Mac.
The slim brushed metal case makes it one of the easiest drives to carry. A mechanical disk inside limits speeds to hard drive level.
Who it's for
Students and travelers backing up a laptop on the go. Heavy video users will fill it fast and should look at larger capacities.
Pros and cons
- Very thin and light
- Brushed metal case
- Photo software included
- Works with PlayStation
- Spinning disk speed
- Time Machine may need reformatting
Performance notes
Transfers run at spinning disk speed, which is fine for documents and photo backups. The thin case holds a laptop class drive powered over USB. Gentle handling while running protects the mechanism.
