Overview
Placing a compact HIDB antenna by a television is meant to pull in broadcast channels over the air. Its listing covers range, impedance, size and warranty, but leaves the cable, the base and the frequency bands undescribed.
Clear basics make it easy to judge, with a stated range, impedance, size and a manufacturer warranty on record. The advertised range is a maximum that walls, terrain and distance cut into, and the listing never describes the cable or how the antenna stands.
Who it's for
Living rooms and apartments with towers nearby are the setting where a small antenna earns its place. Viewers in fringe areas, or anyone needing a known cable length to reach a window, should look for a fuller listing.
Pros and cons
- 120-mile maximum range claimed
- 75 ohm impedance listed
- Two-year manufacturer warranty
- Compact 6.3 inch height
- Cable, base and bands not listed
- Maximum range shrinks with walls and terrain
Performance notes
How many channels appear depends on distance to towers, terrain and the walls in between, not on the channel count printed in the specs. Running a fresh channel scan on the TV after moving the antenna shows which spot works.

Frequently asked questions
Does the HIDB antenna need a separate amplifier or power?
No amplifier and no power input are mentioned in the specs, so the listing gives no sign it needs one or includes one.
What cable comes with the HIDB antenna?
The specs do not list a cable or its length, so confirm with the seller before buying.
Does the HIDB antenna pick up cable TV channels?
No. It is a television antenna for over-the-air broadcast signals, not channels delivered by a cable provider.
