Overview
Not a set of rabbit ears despite the title, the HIDB antenna is a slim stick that receives broadcast television channels. The listing gives its size, weight and impedance but says nothing about frequency bands, cable or mounting.
Small size is what it offers: the stick is short and weighs next to nothing, so it is easy to place out of sight. Almost nothing else is documented, and the range figure in the specs cannot be taken at face value.
Who it's for
Spare rooms and dorm TVs close to broadcast towers may suit a small stick antenna. Viewers far from towers, or who want a published spec sheet, should choose a better documented model.
Pros and cons
- Very small stick shape
- Just 2.08 oz
- 120 channels claimed in specs
- Frequency bands not listed
- Range figure in specs is not credible
- Stick shape contradicts the rabbit ears title
- Warranty field gives no clear term
Performance notes
Reception depends on how far the TV is from broadcast towers and what stands in between. Placement near a window and away from other electronics tends to matter more than the claimed channel count.
