Overview
Fueled by wood pellets rather than charcoal, the TFB30KLF smoker is built from alloy steel with a black finish, standing 18 x 37 x 36 in and weighing 60 lb.
Pellet fuel means an auger and hopper feed wood pellets automatically instead of requiring manual charcoal or wood management, which tends to suit longer, low-and-slow cooks. The 60 lb weight and alloy steel body give it a sturdier build than portable smokers, though at 36 in tall it needs dedicated patio or yard space.
- Pellet fuel system
- Alloy steel construction
- 60 lb weight
- 18 x 37 x 36 in size
Who it's for
Buyers wanting a set-and-forget pellet smoker for longer cooks who have yard space for an 18 x 37 x 36 in unit. Not for apartment dwellers or those wanting a compact tabletop smoker.
Pros and cons
- Pellet fuel automates temperature feeding
- Sturdy 60 lb alloy steel build
- Large 18 x 37 x 36 in cooking footprint
- Heavy and not easily portable
- Needs dedicated outdoor space
Performance notes
Pellet systems typically hold steadier temperatures over long cooks than charcoal because the auger feeds fuel automatically, cutting down on fire tending. The alloy steel body at 60 lb adds outdoor stability, though that same weight makes the unit harder to move once placed.
