ORIJEN Small Breed Grain Free Dry Dog Food 4 lb

Overview

ORIJEN Small Breed Recipe is a grain-free, high-protein dry kibble in a 4 lb bag, built around apple, egg, kelp, peas and pumpkin with small 9x6mm kibble pieces sized for smaller jaws.

The recipe skips corn, wheat, potato and soy in favor of a grain-free ingredient list, and the small bite size is meant to make chewing easier for toy and small breed dogs. It carries claims around digestive health, immune support and coat condition, though those are formulation goals rather than outcomes any single dog is guaranteed to see. At 4 lb, it is a trial-size bag rather than a bulk buy for a multi-dog household.

• Grain-free, corn-free, wheat-free formula
• Small 9x6mm kibble pieces for small breeds
• Made with apple, egg, kelp, peas and pumpkin
• 4 lb (64 oz) bag, all life stages

Who it's for

Suited to owners of small breed dogs who want a grain-free, high-protein kibble without corn, wheat or soy in the ingredient list. Less useful for households that go through food quickly and would rather buy a larger bag to cut cost per pound.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

The kibble is formed in small 9x6mm square pieces, which is the practical detail that matters for small breed jaws and toy dog feeders. Grain-free formulas rely on peas and similar ingredients for carbohydrate content instead of corn or wheat, which is why the allergen list reads clean for dogs sensitive to those grains. The bag size (4 lb / 64 oz) is worth noting since it will not last long in a multi-dog home.
