Overview
A laptop bag or a coffee shop table is where this Seagate drive fits, a slim brushed metal hard drive powered from one USB cable. It backs up with one click or on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule on Windows and Mac.
Included Mylio Create and Adobe photo plan memberships add value for people organizing photos. The spinning disk inside means it needs gentle handling and moves files slower than flash storage.
Who it's for
Students and photographers who want a compact backup drive with photo tools. Anyone working outdoors or editing large video projects should look at a rugged SSD.
Pros and cons
- Slim brushed metal design
- Bus powered from USB
- Scheduled backup feature
- Photo software subscriptions included
- Spinning disk, slower than SSD
- Time Machine may need reformatting
- No USB-C cable listed
Performance notes
Transfer speed is limited by the spinning disk rather than the USB connection. Scheduled backups run in the background so files stay current without effort. A mechanical drive is sensitive to drops while running, so handle it gently.
