Overview
Not the current Z-Star but the previous generation, this Srixon tour ball pairs a FastLayer core with a thicker urethane cover. The core grows firmer toward its edge for speed, and the Spin Skin coating grips wedge and iron grooves.
Urethane with a grippy coating gives stopping power on approach shots, and the core is tuned for high speed players. As a prior generation listing, it may differ from what is in stores now. The quantity per box is not stated.
Who it's for
Skilled players with faster swings will get the most from the firm edged core and spin cover. Slower swingers and beginners should look at a softer, more forgiving ball.
Pros and cons
- Urethane cover grips wedge grooves
- Core tuned for high speed players
- Dimple design for wind and lift
- Three piece tour build
- Box count not listed
- Prior generation model
- Built for faster swing speeds
Performance notes
The Spin Skin coating flexes into iron and wedge grooves, which is what produces the spin and stopping power. The FastLayer core gives speed to high speed swings, and the dimple pattern reduces drag to hold a straighter flight in wind.
