Overview
This 3-pack from Icepure is an NSF-certified replacement refrigerator water filter cross-referenced to Whirlpool 4396508/4396510, EDR5RXD1 and Everydrop Filter 5, sized for older Whirlpool, Kenmore and Maytag side-by-side refrigerators.
- NSF/ANSI 401, 53 and 372 certified
- Cross-compatible with EDR5RXD1 and Everydrop Filter 5
- BPA-free, lead-free filter materials
- 3 filters included per pack
Who it's for
Fits owners of older Whirlpool, Kenmore or Maytag refrigerators that take the 4396508/EDR5RXD1/Everydrop Filter 5 filter and want NSF-certified PFAS and lead reduction at a multi-pack price. Not for anyone who has already had a locking-tab fit issue with a generic replacement on their specific model, since fit is worth confirming before installing the rest of the pack.
Pros and cons
- NSF/ANSI 401 and 53 certified for PFAS and lead
- 3-pack covers roughly a year of changes
- At least one reviewer got a locking tab that didn't seat properly
- Compatibility depends on matching the exact filter housing
Performance notes
The filter reduces contaminants through certified NSF/ANSI 401 and 53 testing, covering pharmaceuticals, PFAS compounds, lead and mercury rather than just basic taste and odor. Fit is the mechanical risk point: the filter needs its locking tab to seat correctly in the refrigerator's housing, and at least one reviewer's unit had a tab too small for a proper seal.
