Overview
Small Pet Select's cat litter is made from recycled paper pellets rather than clay, sold in a 20 pound bag. It's non-clumping, unscented and made in the USA, marketed as low dust and non-tracking.
Paper pellet litter behaves differently from clumping clay: waste isn't scooped into clumps but managed by removing soiled pellets or changing the litter on a schedule, which suits owners already comfortable with that routine. Its 4.0 average rating is the lowest of this batch, worth weighing against the clumping litters most cat owners default to.
- 20 lb bag of recycled paper pellets
- Non-clumping litter
- Low dust, non-tracking
- Unscented, made in USA
Who it's for
Cat owners who specifically want a non-clumping, paper-based litter for dust control or environmental reasons. Not a fit for owners who rely on clumping litter for daily scoop-and-toss cleaning.
Pros and cons
- Made from recycled paper, made in USA
- Low dust and non-tracking
- 20 lb bag size
- Non-clumping, so no scoop-and-toss cleaning
- Lower average rating than other litters in this category
Performance notes
Because the pellets don't clump, odor and waste control depend more on a regular full or partial litter change than on scooping, a different maintenance rhythm than clay litters use. The paper material is the source of its low-dust and non-tracking claims rather than any added fragrance, since the product is unscented.
