Overview
An aluminum framed landing net from KastKing, model KTANETBR-5, built at a 45 inch total length that does not extend. KastKing markets it as lightweight, portable, and retractable for spinning and casting anglers.
Aluminum keeps the frame light at 0.82 kilograms without giving up rigidity, and the retractable design is meant for anglers who need to stow a net in a boat or on a bank without it taking up a rod length of space. The 45 inch figure is the net's full length, not an adjustable reach.
- Aluminum frame
- 0.82 kg weight
- 45 inch fixed length
- Retractable, portable design
Who it's for
Spinning and casting anglers who want a compact landing net that packs down for transport or storage. Not for anglers who specifically need a telescoping handle to reach fish from a raised bank or dock.
Pros and cons
- Lightweight aluminum frame
- Retractable for storage
- Suited to spinning and casting
- 45 inch length does not extend
- Not built for long reach bank fishing
Performance notes
The aluminum frame holds down overall weight to 0.82 kilograms, which matters most when the net is carried all day rather than left in a boat. Because the 45 inch length is fixed rather than extendable, anglers get a known reach every cast instead of a handle that can slip shorter under load.
