Overview
The Calamus triangle landing net folds for storage and opens to a 31 inch full length, built with a black polyester mesh hoop for spinning and casting use.
The triangle hoop shape is designed to scoop fish close to the boat or bank edge more easily than a round hoop, and the folding design trades a bit of rigidity for portability, which matters when a net needs to clip onto a kayak or fit in a rod bag. At about 0.32 kg, it's built to be carried rather than left mounted.
- 31 inch full length, foldable design
- Durable polyester mesh, black
- Built for spinning and casting
Who it's for
Anglers who need a compact, packable net for spinning or casting trips, including kayak and bank anglers short on storage space. Less suited to anglers who want a rigid, fixed frame for landing larger, harder-fighting fish.
Pros and cons
- Folds down for compact storage and transport
- 31 inch full size covers most spinning and casting needs
- Lightweight at about 0.32 kg
- Folding frame is less rigid than a fixed hoop
- Not specced for landing larger, harder-fighting fish
Performance notes
The polyester mesh hoop measures 31 inches at full extension and folds down for storage, weighing about 0.32 kg. Polyester mesh is a common choice for durability against hook snags compared to lighter nylon mesh, though the folding joints are the usual point of wear on this style of net compared with a fixed frame.
