Overview
The Bushnell Broadhead LA1500AD is a 6x24mm archery laser rangefinder rated for 0.3 yard accuracy out to 150 yards, with angle range compensation and a display that switches between black and red for target contrast.
Bushnell built this specifically for bow hunters and 3D archery shooters rather than as a general-purpose rangefinder, which shows in features like Brush mode (ignores foreground clutter) and Bullseye mode (locks onto small targets over background objects).
- 0.3 yard accuracy claimed out to 150 yards
- ActivSync auto black-to-red display
- Angle Range Compensation with 1 degree accuracy
- Brush and Bullseye ranging modes
Who it's for
Suits archers and bow hunters who need accurate, angle-compensated ranging on stationary or 3D targets, especially in low light where the auto-switching reticle helps. Less proven, per at least one reviewer, for ranging moving game in unpredictable field conditions.
Pros and cons
- Reticle auto-switches red for visibility on dark backgrounds
- Angle compensation aids uphill and downhill shots
- Rated favorably against pricier competing rangefinders
Performance notes
The Full Spectrum ranging system is built to handle dark, low-reflectivity targets consistently, holding the same 0.3 yard accuracy Bushnell claims out to 150 yards. Angle Range Compensation factors in incline or decline for true horizontal distance rather than straight line of sight distance, and the ActivSync display shifts between black and red reticle color depending on target background. Brush and Bullseye modes let the unit ignore foreground clutter or isolate a small target from background objects.
