Overview
A compact 6x20 laser rangefinder from Nikon rated to measure distances from 6 to 1000 yards, with First Target and Distant Target modes for reading through brush or branches rather than a golf-specific slope or pin-seeking feature.
Despite showing up in a golf accessories listing, nothing in the spec sheet points to golf, no slope compensation, no flag lock, just yardage to trees, targets, and reflective surfaces. That makes it better described as a general outdoor and hunting rangefinder.
- 6x20 optics with anti-reflection coating
- 6 to 1000 yard ranging distance
- First Target and Distant Target modes
- Continuous 8-second scan mode
Who it's for
Fits hunters, scouters, and outdoor photographers who want a pocket-size rangefinder for distances under a few hundred yards. Less suited to anyone who needs metric precision to the meter or ranging through glass and mesh with confidence.
Pros and cons
- Compact enough to fit a pocket or small pack
- Reads through the mesh window of pop-up hunting blinds
- Two-button operation with long eye relief for eyeglass wearers
- Automatic continuous scan when a single reading fails
Performance notes
The 6x20 optical system with anti-reflection coating targets clarity at short range, and stated accuracy is plus or minus 1 yard out to 100 yards, widening to plus or minus 2 yards beyond that. Tru Target's First Target and Distant Target modes let the unit favor either the nearest or farthest object it detects, useful when foliage sits between the device and the target. A continuous 8-second scan mode starts automatically if a single reading does not resolve.
