Overview
Travel ball fields under USSSA rules are where this True Temper bat plays: a one piece alloy bat with an extra big barrel and an expanded sweet spot. Contact gives a distinct echo ping sound from the Sonar design.
A stiff one piece alloy build with a large barrel suits hitters who want direct feedback and pop. True Temper offers many sizes, including half sizes, so fit can be fine tuned. One piece alloy passes more sting on mishits than a multi piece bat.
Who it's for
Youth and adolescent players in USSSA leagues who want a balanced alloy bat with a big barrel. Hitters sensitive to hand sting should consider a two piece or hybrid build.
Pros and cons
- Extra big barrel
- Durable EV MAX alloy
- Balanced one piece design
- Distinct contact sound
- USSSA stamp only
- One piece passes more sting
- Grip tape thin for some hands
Performance notes
A one piece alloy bat transfers energy straight to the ball, which helps pop but sends more vibration to the hands on mishits. The larger barrel widens the hitting surface. Balance rather than end loading helps swing speed.
