Overview
A treestand at first light or a quiet ground blind suits the Excalibur Assassin Extreme, with a built in crank that cocks the bow with little effort and suppressors to dampen the shot. A two stage trigger and an illuminated scope round out the package.
Cocking with the integrated crank takes very little effort, which helps smaller shooters and anyone hunting from a cramped stand. Speed and true draw weight are missing, and the listed item weight is not believable for a crossbow.
Who it's for
Hunters wanting easy, quiet cocking and a crisp trigger, including those with limited strength, will appreciate the crank. Shooters comparing speed numbers need to look elsewhere for that data.
Pros and cons
- Integrated crank cuts cocking effort
- Crisp two stage trigger
- Suppressors and sound deadening included
- Scope with range steps included
- Arrow speed not listed
- Listed item weight looks incorrect
- Crank cocking is slower than a rope
Performance notes
Ease of use comes from the integrated crank, which reduces the effort needed to pull the string to full draw. Accuracy depends on the clean, light break of the two stage trigger and on matching the scope marks to range. The suppressors and sound deadening parts damp string noise at the shot.
