Overview
Not a cable box or streaming service, this Antennas Direct ClearStream pulls free over-the-air broadcasts using four loops for UHF and Hi-VHF elements. It mounts on a wall with a steel bracket, on a mast, or in an attic.
Multi-directional reception from towers in several directions suits homes far from a single broadcast hub. Results vary with distance, trees and building materials, and no internet channels come with it.
Who it's for
Cord-cutters with towers in different directions will benefit from the multi-directional design. City apartment dwellers close to towers can use a smaller indoor antenna.
Pros and cons
- Long rated range
- UHF and Hi-VHF elements
- Wall, mast or attic mounting
- Steel wall bracket included
- Coax cable not listed
- Large for indoor use
- Range depends on terrain
- No cable channels
Performance notes
Reception depends on line of sight to towers: distance, hills, trees and building materials all weaken signal. The four loops pull UHF from several directions, while Hi-VHF elements catch stations on those bands. Mounting higher, such as on a mast or outdoors, usually brings in more channels.
