Overview
A new beat maker or a Stylophone fan gets a compact plastic drum machine played with a stylus. It offers a handful of kits and loops its patterns.
The stylus makes a playful, tactile way to tap out rhythms, and the small size travels well. Few specifications are listed, so ports, output and loop length are unknown.
Who it's for
Casual players, kids and pocket-synth fans looking for a quick rhythm toy get something easy to carry. Producers who need deep editing should consider a larger drum machine.
Pros and cons
- Compact, light plastic body
- Several drum kits and bass sounds
- Stylus makes playing easy
- USB connector listed
- Batteries needed to run
- Limited sound set
- Output and loop details not listed
Performance notes
Touching the stylus to the pads triggers drum and bass sounds from the chosen kit. Patterns can loop so a rhythm repeats while the player adds parts.
