Overview
Not a single-mode unit, the Nokta Simplex Ultra offers a choice of search programs through an LCD, with a large coil on a carbon fiber shaft. The title calls it waterproof.
A light carbon fiber shaft and a large coil help with long sessions, and a waterproof build allows searching wet ground. The program count gives more than one way to search. The listing gives no depth, frequency, or underwater limit, and the dimensions look unusual.
Who it's for
Hobbyists who search varied ground, including wet areas, will use the programs and the waterproof body. Anyone who wants published performance figures or a detailed accessory list should confirm those with the seller.
Pros and cons
- Waterproof per the title
- Several search programs
- Carbon fiber shaft
- Large search coil
- Depth and frequency not listed
- Waterproof depth limit not stated
- Dimension entries look unreliable
Performance notes
A larger coil covers more ground per sweep, and the programs set how the detector responds to targets. The carbon fiber shaft cuts arm fatigue, and waterproofing allows wet use. Real depth depends on ground and target, and no figures are given.
