Bounty Hunter TK4 Tracker IV Metal Detector

Overview

A waterproof search coil is the working part of this Bounty Hunter detector, which sweeps the ground for gold, silver, coins and relics. An LCD shows detection information, and three detection modes let the user change what is searched for.

Waterproof coil construction and a straightforward interface suit wet ground and beach-style hunting. Battery type, run time and depth ability are missing from the listing.

Who it's for

First-time hunters and kids can start with the simple modes and an LCD. Serious relic hunters or gold prospectors who compare depth and ground handling should look for a model that lists those figures.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

The coil transmits a signal and reads the return from buried metal, so coil size sets the balance between coverage and sensitivity to small targets. Mode selection changes which metals trigger a signal, and the waterproof coil can go into shallow water.
