Overview
A repeater capable GMRS transceiver inside a sealed, waterproof shell sets the Retevis Ailunce apart for off-road and emergency kits. Squelch and mic gain clean up audio, and a color screen shows channel and battery at a glance.
Repeater access, weather alerts and an emergency alarm cover what an off-road convoy or storm kit needs. GMRS repeaters must be available locally for the extra reach.
Who it's for
Overlanders, rural households and rescue volunteers get a tough radio with weather and SOS features. Families wanting a basic radio for the park will find it more than needed.
Pros and cons
- Repeater capable for extra reach
- NOAA weather alerts
- SOS alarm with siren and lights
- Battery life listing unclear
- Pack count in specs conflicts
- Repeater reach depends on local network
Performance notes
Through a repeater, the signal is relayed from a high site, which extends range far beyond handheld to handheld. Squelch blocks wind and engine noise, while mic gain lifts quiet voices for listeners.
