Overview
Clipping a slim radio to a belt and talking without a license is the idea here. Each of the three has a short built in antenna, a squelch to cut noise and USB charging.
Small, light radios with no license needed suit families and beginners. The short range and lack of water resistance limit them to casual use.
Who it's for
Parents, kids and small groups who want easy radios for short distances. Hikers in wet weather should look at a waterproof set.
Pros and cons
- Very thin and light
- No license needed
- VOX hands free
- Works with other FRS radios
- Not water resistant
- No weather channels listed
Performance notes
Talk range depends on terrain and buildings; open ground gives the most. Squelch filters background noise so voice comes through in crowds.
