Overview
Not a printed picture frame, the ELIME is a touchscreen display that receives photos over Wi-Fi from a smartphone app and shows them behind a gold aluminum border. Pictures are stored on built-in memory, and the frame plugs into a wall outlet for power.
Remote photo sharing is the reason to own it: relatives send pictures from a phone app over Wi-Fi, and the touchscreen lets anyone in the room browse them. Its limits are a corded power supply, a WXGA panel and a listing that leaves out the included accessories.
Who it's for
Families spread across several homes can push new pictures to one shared frame without visiting. People who want a cordless frame or a screen viewed from across a large room should look for something bigger or battery powered.
Pros and cons
- Wi-Fi photo delivery from a phone app
- Touch controls on the screen
- Built-in storage for a photo library
- Aluminum frame housing
- Included accessories not listed
- Needs a nearby power outlet
- WXGA resolution, modest sharpness
- No battery for cordless use
Performance notes
What you see is limited by the WXGA panel, so high resolution phone photos display at the screen's resolution rather than their own. Delivery depends on a working Wi-Fi network, because photos arrive through the smartphone app. Touch control on the glass handles browsing without the phone.
