Overview
Weighing about 2.12 pounds on its own, the Naturehike YL08 packs a 7075 aluminum frame, detachable anti-sink feet and a 265-pound weight rating into a backpacking-size carry bag.
The main tradeoff here is weight against stability: the bare frame is light enough to carry one-handed, and detachable anti-sink feet are included separately for sand or mud, adding a little over a quarter pound once attached. Setup relies on an internal bungee cord that auto-tensions the aluminum poles rather than a hub-and-pole assembly pieced together by hand.
- About 2.12 pounds for the bare frame
- 265-pound rated 7075 aluminum frame
- Bungee-tensioned setup in under 15 seconds
- Detachable anti-sink feet included
Who it's for
Backpackers, hikers and festival-goers who weigh pack weight heavily and still want a chair rated to 265 pounds. It is less suited to anyone who wants a padded, armchair-style camp seat, since the design favors low weight over cushioning.
Pros and cons
- Bare frame weighs about 2.12 pounds
- 265-pound weight rating on a 7075 aluminum frame
- Detachable anti-sink feet for sand or mud
- Packs into a 14.6 by 3.6 inch bag
- Anti-sink feet add extra weight and are a separate piece to keep track of
- Minimal padding compared with a standard camp chair
Performance notes
The frame is built from 7075 aluminum alloy, described as stronger than standard aluminum, arranged in a dual-pole structure for stability given how little the chair weighs. An internal bungee cord auto-tensions the poles once the frame snaps together, so setup is a matter of assembling the frame and attaching the seat fabric rather than threading poles through sleeves. Detachable anti-sink feet grip sand or mud when attached, and the whole chair packs into a 14.6 by 3.6 inch bag that doubles as a pouch for a phone or keys.
