PetPivot AS12 Open-Top Automatic Litter Box

Overview

An open-top automatic litter box from PetPivot built for multi-cat households, rated for cats up to 22 pounds. It comes with liners and a litter mat included, and runs self-cleaning cycles triggered by built-in safety sensors.

Unlike enclosed automatic litter boxes, PetPivot's open-top layout skips the hood, which can make it easier for larger or more anxious cats to enter without feeling boxed in, though it also means less odor containment than a covered unit. At roughly 21 by 20 by 24 inches and about 21.6 pounds, it's a large-footprint appliance meant for a dedicated spot rather than a tight corner.

• Open-top automatic self-cleaning design
• Rated for cats up to 22 pounds
• Includes liners and litter mat
• Built for multi-cat homes

Who it's for

Multi-cat households wanting to cut down on manual scooping, especially for cats up to 22 pounds who may resist entering a covered or hooded unit. Owners with very limited floor space should measure first given the unit's size.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Safety sensors are meant to detect when a cat is inside or nearby and hold off the cleaning cycle until the box is clear, then the mechanism runs its self-cleaning pass once the cat has left. The polypropylene construction and included litter mat and liners are meant to simplify the cleanup left after each cycle.
