Overview
Rated to 2000 yards, the AOFAR HX2000 hunting rangefinder pairs a dual-color OLED display with angle and horizontal distance readouts inside a rubber-armored aluminum body.
One reviewer using it for archery at close range in light snow reported wildly inconsistent readings under 40 yards, so short-range accuracy in poor conditions is worth weighing against the mostly positive results at typical hunting range.
- Ranges up to 2000 yards with angle and horizontal readouts
- Dual-color OLED display, 95%+ transmittance optics
- Scan and speed modes for moving targets
- Aluminum alloy body, waterproof, rubber armored
Who it's for
Suits hunters and shooters wanting a rangefinder with angle compensation and a bright OLED display at a lower price than premium brands. Archery hunters who need reliable short-range readings in snowy or low-light conditions should weigh the one reported accuracy complaint below 40 yards.
Pros and cons
- Angle and horizontal distance shown together
- Aluminum body with rubber armor for grip and durability
Performance notes
The scan mode is built on the company's newest processing version and is meant to return distance data in about a second, useful for tracking a moving target rather than a single static reading. The dual-color OLED display is meant to stay readable in both bright daylight and low light by switching color modes, and the angle and horizontal distance readouts are calculated together so hunters shooting up or downhill get a corrected number rather than just line-of-sight distance.
