Overview
Home drummers who want acoustic realism get all-mesh heads, swinging cymbals and a BFD powered touchscreen module on a space saving curved rack. Zildjian cymbal sounds come built in, with more available over Wi-Fi, and lessons come with a Drumeo trial.
Sound depth and learning content are why to buy it, with a large sample library and access to thousands of lessons. Plan for a hi-hat stand and kick pedal, which are sold separately.
Who it's for
Intermediate players and motivated beginners practicing or recording at home will use the sounds and lessons. Anyone wanting to play the day it arrives must also buy the missing hardware.
Pros and cons
- Tunable all-mesh heads
- Swinging triple-zone cymbals
- Zildjian sounds with downloads
- USB, MIDI and Bluetooth
- Hi-hat stand and kick pedal sold separately
- Heavy to move
Performance notes
Mesh heads rebound like real drums and can be tensioned to taste. Triple-zone cymbals trigger different sounds on bow, edge and bell while swinging naturally. The magnetic hi-hat tracks pedal position for open and closed sounds.
