Overview
Not a slow keychain stick, this SanDisk Extreme PRO dual drive moves files at near-SSD speed. One end plugs into USB-C phones and laptops, the other into USB-A computers, and the Memory Zone app handles backups and file management.
Fast transfers in both plug types make it useful for creatives shuttling large video and photo folders. Peak speed only shows on a matching high-speed port.
Who it's for
Photographers, editors and professionals on the move get fast transfers with both connectors and encryption. Casual users saving a few files will not need the speed.
Pros and cons
- Very fast read and write
- USB-C and USB-A on one drive
- Durable metal design
- Lifetime limited warranty
- Full speed needs Gen 2 ports
- Capacity listed inconsistently in specs
- No cap or cover listed
Performance notes
Speed comes from SSD-class flash and a fast USB controller, so the host port sets the ceiling. On older USB ports transfers slow down to that port's limit. Write speed stays close to read, which matters for large file copies.
