Glacier Fresh Refrigerator Water Filter

Overview

A single replacement water filter built for GE's XWFE slot, including the electronic chip GE's newer refrigerators check for, sized to swap in for the GE XWFE and XWF filters. It's NSF/ANSI 42 certified and rated to reduce chlorine, odor, and lead.

GE's XWFE refrigerators read a chip in the filter to confirm it's genuine, and this filter includes that chip so the fridge's dispenser and filter-status light keep working normally, a detail owners specifically call out as functioning correctly. It installs tool-free and is meant as a like-for-like swap for the pricier GE-branded filter.

• Direct fit for GE XWFE and XWF filter slot, chip included
• NSF/ANSI 42 certified, rated 97.9% chlorine/odor reduction
• Fits GNE, GFE, GSE, GSS, GZS, and related GE model families
• Tool-free installation, 6 month / 200 gallon rated life

Who it's for

Owners of GE side-by-side models such as the GNE, GFE, GSE, GSS, or GZS series who want a lower-cost XWFE-compatible filter without losing the chip-based compatibility check. Not for fridges that use a different GE filter number, since fit here is specific to the XWFE/XWF slot.

Pros and cons
