Overview
Not a radio-to-radio walkie talkie, the TIDRADIO unit is a push-to-talk device that sends voice over LTE cellular networks using its own SIM card. An app manages groups, records calls and lets phones join the conversation.
Range is set by cell coverage rather than terrain, so crews far apart stay in touch with one button. Where there is no LTE signal there is no talk, and data service needs renewing once the first year ends.
Who it's for
Logistics fleets, security teams and construction crews working across a region who need quick group talk. Backcountry users far from cell towers need conventional radios instead.
Pros and cons
- Range follows cell coverage
- AI noise reduction for loud sites
- Calls recorded and replayable in the app
- Phones can talk to radios
- Needs 4G cell coverage
- Data renewal after the first year
- Useless where cell service drops
Performance notes
Voice travels over the LTE data network, so call quality and reach depend on the local signal rather than antenna height. The noise reduction filters site noise before transmitting, and battery life stretches across a long shift with standby to spare.
