Overview
Competitive gaming setups that also watch HDR content suit the MSI monitor, which uses many Mini-LED zones behind a quantum dot VA panel. Very high refresh smooths motion, and a height adjustable stand and speaker round it out.
High refresh plus bright, zoned HDR is a rare mix that serves both esports and movies. The VA panel and local dimming can show blooming around bright objects on dark backgrounds.
Who it's for
Shooter players and HDR movie fans who game in dim rooms will get speed and punch. Color critical editors should consider an OLED or IPS reference panel.
Pros and cons
- Very high refresh rate
- Bright Mini-LED HDR
- Many dimming zones
- Quantum dot color
- Possible blooming around highlights
- VA dark smearing risk
- Contrast spec listed oddly
Performance notes
Local dimming zones brighten highlights and dim dark areas separately, which raises HDR contrast. Refresh rate sets motion smoothness when the GPU can match it. VA pixels respond slower from dark shades, which can trail in fast dark scenes.
