Overview
Roland stepped up this compact kit with upgraded pads, two crash cymbals and a stand-mounted hi-hat that moves like a real one. Its module plays a library recorded with Drum Workshop, and wireless downloads add new kits.
A real hi-hat stand and dual crashes are why to choose it over an entry kit, giving more natural playing in a modest space. The listing does not say whether a kick pedal, throne or sticks are included.
Who it's for
Home drummers ready to move past a starter kit will appreciate the stand-mounted hi-hat. Players wanting full size shells should look at an acoustic design model.
Pros and cons
- Two crash cymbals
- Fast EZ Edit changes
- Wireless sound downloads
- Two year warranty
- Kick pedal and throne not listed
- Plastic body construction
- Weight is heavy for a compact kit
Performance notes
A stand-mounted hi-hat uses a real stand and pedal motion, so open and closed sounds follow your foot naturally. Two crashes allow more cymbal variety. EZ Edit adjusts tuning and muffling quickly between songs.
