Overview
Vector Optics' Tauron is a first focal plane rifle scope on a 34mm tube with a 4-16x50 zoom range, built for PRS competition and mid to long range tactical shooting.
Zero-stop elevation, side focus parallax adjustment from 10 yards to infinity, and 1/10 MIL click adjustments target shooters who dial rather than hold over.
- 4-16x50, 34mm tube, first focal plane
- Zero-stop elevation, 1/10 MIL clicks
- Side focus parallax, 10 yards to infinity
- IP67 rated, 1000G shock tested
Who it's for
Aimed at PRS and long range shooters who want a large 34mm tube scope with generous elevation travel and tool-free zero reset. Anyone who can't tolerate the risk of a QC miss on optical clarity should check their specific unit carefully after purchase.
Pros and cons
- 34mm tube feels notably sturdy versus 1 inch or 30mm scopes
- Zero-stop elevation with audible, tactile clicks
- 6 gear illumination with off detents between levels
- Ships with rings, lens hood and lens covers
- One reviewer's unit had unresolved parallax and clarity problems at 80 yards
- Included scope rings weren't trusted by one reviewer, who swapped in their own
Performance notes
The audible, tactile zero-stop elevation turret and windage lock are built to return to a known zero quickly after dialing. Side focus parallax adjustment lets the shooter correct for distance separately from magnification, which matters at long range where uncorrected parallax throws off aim.
