Overview
A one-key frequency copy function lets one of these BAOFENG radios clone another radio's channel without a computer, and a phone app handles the rest of the programming. Each handset adds NOAA weather alerts, a flashlight and two talk buttons.
App programming and frequency cloning remove the cable-and-software hurdle that usually slows new radio users. The radios are not water resistant, and the listing states no warranty.
Who it's for
Families, hikers and preppers who want two programmed radios with weather alerts out of the box. Users in wet conditions or on boats need water-rated radios.
Pros and cons
- Phone app programming
- Frequency copy without a computer
- Full accessory kit for two
- Not water resistant
- No warranty listed
- Dimensions not listed
Performance notes
Range depends on terrain, antenna and line of sight, so the listed maximum assumes open ground. The weather alarm monitors NOAA broadcasts in the background while the radio is parked on a channel.
