Overview
Not a refillable torch or a plain plastic lighter, these BIC Maxi pocket lighters wear textured gold, silver and bronze finishes. Each one is child-resistant and lights candles, grills or a campfire with a thumb roll.
A familiar flint lighter in a dressier finish works on a coffee table as easily as in a pocket. Like any disposable lighter, it cannot be refilled once empty.
Who it's for
Homes that keep a lighter by the candles or grill get a set that looks less utilitarian. Campers who need a windproof flame in rough weather should carry a dedicated torch lighter.
Pros and cons
- Textured, decor friendly finishes
- Six lighters per pack
- Each unit quality checked
- Disposable, not refillable
- Fuel type not listed
- No wind protection
Performance notes
A spark wheel strikes flint over a gas valve, and the child-resistant guard adds resistance before the flame lights. Wind blows out an open flame, so outdoor use goes smoother with the hand cupped around it.
