A straightforward stereo receiver for a turntable and a pair of speakers, with Bluetooth for phone streaming. It has no HDMI or surround, so it does not run a TV home theater.
A full-featured home theater receiver with Atmos, dual HDMI outputs and multi-room streaming. Power output is not stated in the listing, so speaker matching takes extra checking.
A straightforward surround receiver for a living room speaker set, with Bluetooth and automatic speaker setup built in. The listing names no Wi-Fi or network streaming, so phone audio travels over Bluetooth only.
A Sony surround receiver with Atmos decoding, Ultra HD HDR switching and broad wireless streaming for a full speaker setup. Speakers are sold separately and the listing does not itemize what comes in the box.
A straightforward receiver for driving a pair of passive speakers with Bluetooth and radio built in; there is no surround processing for a home theater.
A full-featured receiver for a living room theater with a modern TV and game consoles, adding Atmos and streaming in one box. A single HDMI output means no second display zone.
A plain stereo receiver for a pair of speakers fed by a TV, disc player or phone. It has no HDMI, Bluetooth or surround, so it suits classic two speaker listening.

Denon AVR-S750H 7.2 Channel AV Receiver
A well equipped receiver for a mid-size home theater with Atmos and a modern TV, plus streaming to other rooms. It has a single HDMI output, so a projector and TV cannot be fed at once.
A powerful hub for a full Atmos home theater that also handles current consoles and whole home music. It is large and heavy, and gaming pass-through does not work with every high frame rate source.
A straightforward entry receiver for a first five speaker home theater with an ultra high definition TV. It lacks Wi-Fi streaming and Atmos in the listing, so music arrives over Bluetooth only.
A feature-packed AV receiver for a home theater that also streams music and ties into Sonos. Setting up a full speaker layout takes time, and the power figure is measured with two channels driven.
A hi-fi network receiver with a high grade ESS DAC, room correction, phono input and HDMI for a TV. The listing is thin on power details and output specs, so check the spec sheet before matching speakers.
A straightforward surround receiver that ties consoles, streamers and passive speakers to one TV. Speakers are sold separately, and the listing names no height channel support.
A two-channel stereo receiver with a phono stage, radio and Bluetooth for a record and music system. It is not a surround receiver and lists no HDMI or video switching.
A powerful, full-featured receiver for dedicated home theaters with many speakers, including height channels. The listing is very thin, so check HDMI input count and setup details.
An in-wall Bluetooth amplifier that powers a pair of speakers directly, unlike a source-only wall plate. Setup still calls for hard-wiring or the included power adapter and a compatible gang box.

These 10 av receivers have the highest ProductDome scores among the established products in this category, meaning ones with a large volume of owner ratings and strong evidence; on a tie, the product with more rating evidence ranks first. The score combines owner satisfaction, rating volume, demand and data quality from public Amazon listings (updated 3 days ago). We do not test products ourselves.
Yamaha, Pyle, Sony, Onkyo, Denon lead this category among the 30 brands that passed our curation checks.
How does ProductDome pick these av receivers?
A listing appears only when it has a recorded price, a minimum customer rating, and enough ratings or monthly sales. Generic and unbranded listings are left out, while every real brand stays, including brands sold only on Amazon. The ones that pass are ordered by the ProductDome score, which weighs owner satisfaction, rating volume, demand and data quality.
About av receivers
AV receivers come in stereo and surround formats: stereo models play through left and right speakers, while surround models can drive separate speakers around the room for film soundtracks. Start with the speaker arrangement you intend to install, including any planned expansion. A receiver is not necessarily a complete Home Theater Systems package, so establish whether you need the electronics alone or speakers supplied with them.
For that arrangement, distinguish powered speaker channels from processing capability: some receivers can process additional channels but need a separate amplifier to drive them. Height speakers and speakers in another room may share amplifier channels, so consult the manual for the combinations that can run together. The receiver must also support your speakers’ impedance, and its output should suit their sensitivity, your listening distance and your intended volume. Among the 40 products that list power, most fall between 74 and 1,200 watts, and 152 watts is typical. Compare continuous output into the same speaker impedance, with similar distortion limits and the same number of channels driven. An advertised total or peak wattage cannot tell you how much continuous power each speaker receives.
Next, map the connections for your television, console and disc player. The HDMI ports filter cannot tell you which sockets are inputs or outputs, or which video features each supports; use the connection diagram to establish whether your sources can remain connected together. For gaming or high-resolution video, confirm that the relevant input and output both pass the resolution, refresh rate and features your source and television use. If you watch through television apps, match the television’s audio-return connection and supported audio formats to the receiver’s, so sound can reach the speakers as intended. For music, decide whether you need direct phone playback or playback over your home network, then confirm support for the devices and services you actually use.
Before buying, measure the cabinet against the receiver’s dimensions plus the manual’s ventilation clearances and space behind the sockets for plugs and cable bends. An enclosed compartment may need ventilation provisions beyond simply fitting the chassis. For a turntable, confirm whether the receiver has a suitable phono input or whether an external phono preamplifier is required. If automatic speaker calibration matters to your setup, establish whether its measurement microphone is supplied; a compatible replacement may be sold separately.
