Overview
Uniden shrinks this CB down to a small box that mounts on or under the dash or beneath a seat, moving the display and controls to the speaker mic. It covers all forty CB channels and adds NOAA weather alerts.
Putting the screen and buttons on the mic frees the dash and lets the radio body hide out of sight. The built-in mic speaker can be drowned out in an open Jeep, and the antenna is a separate purchase.
Who it's for
Off-roaders, overlanders and small-car drivers get a full CB that tucks under a seat. Drivers in loud cabs should plan on the recommended external speaker.
Pros and cons
- Very small body hides anywhere
- Display and controls on the mic
- NOAA weather alerts
- Slide mount bracket included
- Antenna sold separately
- Mic speaker weak in loud cabs
- Water resistance claims conflict
- Extension cable adds clutter
Performance notes
Range depends on the external antenna and how it is grounded to the vehicle, since the radio uses standard CB power. Audio comes through the mic speaker, so road and engine noise in open vehicles can mask it without an added speaker.
