Overview
Lillian Ruff's PRO Formula shampoo is a blueberry-scented, blue-tinted wash designed to brighten light or white coats and reduce tear staining, packaged in a 16 oz bottle with ProVitamin B5.
Blue-toned shampoos work on the same color-correcting principle as purple shampoo for gray human hair, counteracting yellowing in white or light coats. The tear stain claim is the other headline feature, aimed specifically at breeds prone to reddish-brown staining around the eyes.
- 16 fluid ounce bottle
- Blueberry scent
- Paraben-free formula
- For use on cats and dogs
Who it's for
Owners of light-coated or white dogs and cats preparing for show or simply wanting a brighter coat, plus anyone dealing with visible tear staining. It is gluten-free and sulphite-free for pets sensitive to those.
Pros and cons
- Blue-toned formula targets coat brightening
- Marketed to reduce tear staining
- Gluten-free and sulphite-free
- Includes ProVitamin B5 for hydration
- Formulated for light or white coats specifically
Performance notes
The blueberry-derived blue tint is the whitening mechanism, offsetting the yellow cast that develops on light coats over time. ProVitamin B5 is included as a hydrating agent, meant to counter the drying effect that whitening formulas can sometimes have on skin.
