Overview
A climber heading onto long mountain routes gets three Black Diamond alpine quickdraws, each a long Dynex sling with a Miniwire carabiner at the top and bottom. The carabiners are aluminum with wire gates.
Three long draws cover the extended placements of an alpine rack, and the matching carabiners at both ends keep the setup simple. Wire gates add little weight. The limitation is that the listing says almost nothing beyond the name, with no weight, strength or sling width given.
Who it's for
Mountain routes and trad climbs where long draws reduce rope drag across wandering lines. Gym and bolt climbers should look at shorter quickdraws.
Pros and cons
- Three draws in one pack
- Long Dynex sling cuts rope drag
- Light wire gate carabiners
- Same carabiner on both ends
- Weight not listed
- Strength ratings missing
- Warranty row gives no terms
Performance notes
A long sling lets the rope run straight past awkward placements, which reduces drag as the climber moves higher. Dynex is a thin, strong fiber that makes the quickdraw light and small to pack. Wire gates cut weight and resist freezing shut in cold weather.
