Overview
On a crag or a long multi-pitch route, this Petzl quickdraw pairs two keylock aluminum carabiners with a polyamide webbing sling. A TPE string stabilizes the lower carabiner, and the gates are straight on one end and curved on the other.
A light build and a smooth keylock gate make clipping easier, including with gloves. The limitation is that the description covers three lengths while the listing shows one set of dimensions, so the exact version is unclear.
Who it's for
Climbers on single-pitch cliffs and long routes who want a light, ergonomic quickdraw will use it. Buyers who need an exact sling length should confirm which of the available lengths is shipped.
Pros and cons
- Keylock gates avoid snagging
- Light, ergonomic build
- Straight and curved gate openings
- CE and UIAA certified
- Exact length not stated
- Not a locking carabiner
- Sold as a single quickdraw
Performance notes
Keylock gates have no hook to catch on a bolt hanger or rope, which makes clipping smoother. The straight gate suits the bolt and the curved gate suits the rope, and strength is highest along the major axis.
