Overview
A patented swing beam extender widens the lanes for the belt swings and web disc swing on this cedar playset from Backyard Discovery. Above, a clubhouse with a chalkboard, telescope and balcony connects to a spiral tube slide and a wave slide, with a shaded bistro below.
Cedar Cove covers climbing, sliding, swinging and pretend cooking in one footprint, so several kids can play different games at once. Scale is the limitation: the listed dimensions and weight make it a major yard project, and no maximum user weight is given.
Who it's for
Households with a roomy lawn and kids across the preschool to grade school years get a whole playground in one build. Families short on yard space or time for a long assembly project should consider a smaller set.
Pros and cons
- Two slides, including a spiral tube
- Rock wall and flat-rung ladder
- Shaded bistro with toy grill and sink
- Chalkboard and telescope in the clubhouse
- Very heavy, large assembly project
- Maximum user weight not listed
- Needs a large open yard
Performance notes
Swinging room comes from the swing beam extender, which spreads the swings apart so several kids can use them together. Climbing access is split between the rock wall and the flat-rung ladder with metal handles, which eases traffic to the clubhouse. Cedar construction governs how it weathers outdoors.
